Berkshire Medical Center’s Accent on Health program in Pittsfield has a health van on the road 4 days a week. The staff does health screenings and includes a nurse to check cholesterol, glucose and heart. The van has a wheelchair lift. Immigration status is not an issue. Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington is offering free colonoscopies for men through a grant from the Men’s Health Partnership. Everything is paid for, including follow-up, for men who are uninsured or underinsured (i.e., have a huge deductible). June 30th is the last day. Call Cheryl Thomson at (413) 854-9608 for more information. She will try and arrange lodging for men from out of town.
Community Health Connections’ Leominster Health Center is now open at 14 Manning Avenue, in downtown Leominster behind Friendly’s. It offers dental, medical, and mental health services.
