HSN temporarily suspends some co-pays

Submitted by Laura at CP on May 12, 2008 - 1:22pm.

The Division of Health Care Finance and Policy has suspended Health Safety Net (HSN) co-payment requirements for medical services. These include the $5 co-payment for an outpatient visit and the $50 co-payments for inpatient admissions and emergency room visits. Co-payments for pharmacy services will continue to be charged.

  • An administrative bulletin (PDF) with additional information has been sent to providers. Individuals using the HSN were not informed directly, but may want a copy of the notice.

The Division expects to re-institute these co-payments in the future.

For more information about HSN Low Income Patient Responsibilities, see the regulations (PDF); the suspended section is in red.
