MLRI training on health coverage programs

Submitted by Laura at CP on January 15, 2009 - 1:42pm.
On February 4, 2009, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute (MLRI) will host a daylong training in Boston about state-subsidized health coverage programs. The morning session will review basic eligibility requirements for Commonwealth Care and MassHealth.

In the afternoon, participants may choose between two advanced sessions. The first covers other health programs, such as the Medical Security Plan, and affordability exemptions under the individual mandate. The second workshop focuses on troubleshooting MassHealth and Commonwealth Care problems that arise after eligibility and enrollment.

The February 4 training is part of a series of basic benefits trainings conducted by MLRI. Click here for the registration brochure (PDF), or to register online. Registration is open up to the day of the event. The cost is $25 for legal services attorneys and "non-lawyer advocates." It is $95 for all others.

The Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education website has additional information about the MLRI training series.
