Upcoming immigration law & health benefits workshop from MIRA

The MIRA Coalition will be offering a 3-hour combined training on two topics: "The ABCs of Immigration" and "Health and Benefits: State and Federal Eligibility." The training will be held:

    Friday, November 20, 2009
    1:00-4:00pm
    Marshall Center, 254 State Street
    (behind St. Michael's Cathedral)
    Springfield

This is a free training. Participants should register by emailing their contact information to Sarang Sekhavat, MIRA Coalition Federal Policy Director: ssekhavat@miracoalition.org

Participants in the "ABCs of Immigration" portion will gain an understanding of different immigration statuses and of the ways people come to the United States. The "Health and Benefits: State and Federal Eligibility" portion covers recent changes to immigrants' eligibility for state health care and the new "Commonwealth Care Bridge" health plan.
