In December, the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy (DHCFP) confirmed that the Uncompensated Care Pool (UCP) does 'wrap' Commonwealth Care. Plans for members above 100% of the federal poverty level do not provide dental benefits and co-pays can range from $5 for a primary care visit to $250 for inpatient hospital stays.
Providers may submit UCP claims for these and other medically necessary services not covered by Commonwealth Care. Wrap coverage remains retroactive, meaning that providers may bill for UCP-eligible services that were provided in the six months prior to UCP eligibility determination.
