SSI benefits and income caps to increase January 1

Submitted by Laura at CP on December 4, 2007 - 3:05pm.

The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Federal Benefit Rate will increase as of January 1, 2008. This will affect the monthly SSI benefit as well as the maximum income limits for families with disabled or blind children in Massachusetts.

Those families whose incomes were slightly over the SSI limits in 2007 may now be eligible for benefits. Click below for further information:

All children who are determined eligible for SSI will also qualify for MassHealth. Also, disabled or blind children may qualify for CommonHealth even if their families' incomes exceed the SSI limits.
