Outreach workers in the Health Access Network have told us that people receiving denial letters from MassHealth often don't realize they are eligible for Free Care (Uncompensated Care Pool). This confusion has increased since the application processes for MassHealth and Free Care have been combined. They have suggested using a copy of the MassHealth denial letter to show clients where to look for Uncompensated Care eligibility information. We've created an easy-to-use educational tool (PDF, 103 kb) you can give clients to show them what to look for.
