CMSP changes as of July 1

Submitted by Community Partners on June 29, 2007 - 2:43pm.

From July 1 onward, families with health coverage through the Children's Medical Security Plan (CMSP) will start receiving premium bills from MassHealth. Families now making CMSP automatic payments through their banks should stop these payments immediately. Members will hear from MassHealth in the near future about when they will receive their first bill and where to send payments.

For questions about CMSP benefits and providers, members should continue to call CMSP Customer Service at 1-800-909-2677. As of July 1, questions about CMSP bills, payments, or eligibility for benefits should go to MassHealth Customer Service at 1-800-841-2900.

Good news for CMSP

MassHealth will not charge CMSP premiums for the month of July and August because of the system transition.

Effective July 1, 2007, MassHealth will be responsible for the collection of CMSP premiums. For the purpose of transitioning and aligning CMSP accounts to the MassHealth system, MassHealth will not charge CMSP premiums for July and August 2007. Starting September 2007, monthly premium bills for CMSP will start again. Notices will be sent toward the end of July with details on the change.
