Major changes proposed for safety net

Submitted by Laura at CP on August 16, 2007 - 1:41pm.

Massachusetts Health Care Reform includes significant changes in the safety net program currently known as the Uncompensated Care Pool or Free Care. Changes being proposed include new exclusions from eligibility and the institution of a $35 per month accruing deductible for those between 150%-200% FPL. See below for links to details.

Adoption of proposed regulations for eligible services through the new Health Safety Net Trust Fund will be discussed at a public meeting on Wednesday, August 22, 9:30 AM, at One Ashburton Place, 21st Floor, in Boston. Comments on the proposed regulations may be made in person. Those who notify the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy of their intent to speak by 5:00 PM on August 21 will be first to testify. Written comments may be submitted to:

Division of Health Care Finance & Policy
